Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated all across the country on October 2nd. It's the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. But many may not know that October 2nd is Lal Bahadur Shasrti's birthday as well. Lal Bahadur Shastri was the Prime Minister of the country and he was in office from June 9, 1964 to January 11, 1966. He was the first person to be posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna. " Vijay Ghat ", a memorial has been built for him in the national capital, New Delhi.
